Our house in New Canaan has been added to the Connecticut Register of Historic Places. Built in 1966 and designed by the architect Hugh Smallen. It is featured in the book, The Harvard Five in New Canaan. Called the Parsons House, named after the family that commissioned it, the house is part of the Modern Home Survey conducted by Phillip Johnson's Glass House. New Canaan has somewhere around 100 "modern" houses scattered throughout the town, and is now working very hard to preserve the ones that are still standing.

On the bottom is an illustration that I did in the early 90's for the New York Times. At that time Linda Wells was the editor of the beauty pages. She commissioned me to do a drawing about the products to treat cellulite. On the top is a photograph done about a year ago for Neiman Marcus. Although very different objects...they somehow looks the same.

I know, you thought you were going to a photographers blog...
What most of you probably don't know is that I was an illustrator long before I became the photographer you may already know. This image was done in the early 90's for Lears magazine. It was to illustrate new makeup trends, and if I remember correctly, won an award or two.
